Choosing a projector

What comes in a Neon+ projector box, and what else do you need?

Every Neon+ projector box lists the projector itself, a remote control and a product instruction card. After that the lists differ: a tripod is listed with three of the seven models, an HDMI item with two, a storage bag with one, and two wireless microphones with the X5 Plus alone. No published list includes a screen, an external speaker or a power bank.

Key takeaways

In short

  1. All seven Neon+ specification tables list the projector, a remote control and a product instruction card in the box.
  2. A tripod is listed with the Q1, the C2000 and the V6. The K5, V8, X5 and X5 Plus tables list none.
  3. The K5 and V6 lists are the only two that include an HDMI item, printed as "HDMI". The other five list no cable.
  4. A High Speed HDMI cable carries "1080p and beyond" (HDMI Licensing Administrator), which covers the highest native resolution Neon+ publishes.
  5. No box list includes a screen, a speaker, a power bank or batteries for the remote. Neon+ sells a bag, an adaptor, a remote and two power banks separately, from RM29.90.

Method and scope Box contents, power inputs, weights and resolutions are quoted as Neon+ publishes them in each product's specification table, read on 22 September 2026. The shop prices, the accessory listings, the FAQ and the Terms were re-read on 17 October 2026. The HDMI cable descriptions come from the HDMI Licensing Administrator, named at the foot of the page.

01

What does Neon+ list in the box for each projector?

All seven Neon+ lists carry the projector, a remote control and an item printed as "Product instruction card". Beyond those three the lists part company: a tripod on three models, an HDMI item on two, a storage bag on one, and two wireless microphones on one. No list names a warranty card.

Each list is printed in the specification table on that model's own product page on the Neon+ shop in Malaysia, read on 22 September 2026, with the prices and accessory listings re-read on 17 October 2026.

ModelTripodHDMI (as listed)Storage bagMicrophones
Q1Yes———
C2000Yes—Yes—
K5—Yes——
V8————
V6YesYes——
X5————
X5 Plus———Yes, 2

That grid is the shortlist. A tripod without paying extra means the Q1, the C2000 or the V6; an HDMI item in the carton means the K5 or the V6. The full lines, word for word as Neon+ prints them, follow.

ModelPriceIn the box, as published
Q1 ProjectorRM799Q1, Remote control, Power cord, Tripod, Product instruction card
C2000 ProjectorRM1,359C2000, Remote control, Power adapter, Tripod, Portable storage bag, Product instruction card
K5 ProjectorRM2,299K5, Remote control, power adapter, power cord, HDMI, Product instruction card
V8 ProjectorRM2,899V8, Remote control, power adapter, power cord, Product instruction card
V6 ProjectorRM3,800V6, Remote control, Power adapter, Tripod, Power cord, HDMI, Product instruction card
X5 ProjectorRM4,599X5, Remote control, power adapter, power cord, Product instruction card
X5 Plus ProjectorRM4,999X5, Remote control, power adapter, power cord, Product instruction card, 2x Wireless Microphone

The Neon+ box list does not climb with the price. The RM799 Q1 is one of only three models whose list includes a tripod, and the RM4,599 X5's list is the same five items as the RM2,899 V8's. The X5 Plus line is the X5's list with two wireless microphones added, and the table prints the unit as "X5" on that line.

If two models are close and the accessories are what separates them, WhatsApp Neon+ with the two models you are comparing, or work up from the room first in how to choose a portable projector.

02

Which Neon+ projectors come with a tripod?

Three of the seven list a tripod in the box: the Q1, the C2000 and the V6. The K5, the V8, the X5 and the X5 Plus list none, so a buyer of those four who wants the projector off the table top supplies the stand. Nothing in the published tables says a stand is required either way.

If you are buying a stand separately, the published weights are the number to check it against, because they are not close across the range. Neon+ lists 630 g for the C2000 and 2.36 kg for the X5 and X5 Plus, a spread of nearly four times, so a stand rated for the lightest model is not automatically rated for the heaviest.

No Neon+ specification line names the socket: neither a tripod thread nor a mount type appears on any of the seven tables. If you plan to reuse a camera tripod you already own, or to ceiling-mount, ask Neon+ to confirm the fit for your model before you buy the hardware.

03

Do you need to buy an HDMI cable?

Five of the seven Neon+ models list no cable in the box, so a buyer who intends to plug in a laptop, a console or a set-top box supplies one. Only the K5 and V6 lists include an HDMI item, printed simply as "HDMI". All seven tables list "Support HDMI 2.0 input", so the port is on every model.

The tables name no connector size. If your model ships with the HDMI item, use that cable's plug as the reference when buying a spare; otherwise ask Neon+ before ordering one. There may be no cable in the room at all: all seven tables list 2.4G + 5G dual-band Wi-Fi and wireless screen sharing, described as "Support WiFi LAN on the same screen + outdoor no network hotspot on the same screen". The line names no device, so ask Neon+ which ones it has been used with.

Cable tiers on the shelf cover far more than a projector needs. The HDMI Licensing Administrator describes a High Speed HDMI Cable as "designed and tested to handle video resolutions of 1080p and beyond with support up to 10.2Gbps bandwidth", a Premium High Speed cable as for "4K/UltraHD at up to 18Gbps bandwidth", and an Ultra High Speed cable as for "8K@60 and 4K@120 formats".

The highest native resolution Neon+ publishes is 1920*1080, which the first of those three already covers. Ports by model are in which projector connections to check before buying, and the difference between a native resolution and a supported input is in native resolution versus supported input.

04

What is not in the box, and which accessories can you add?

No published Neon+ box list includes a projection screen, an external speaker, a power bank, batteries for the remote, a lens cloth or an AV cable. A carrying case appears on one list only, the C2000's "Portable storage bag".

Two of those absences are already covered by the projector itself: all seven tables publish a throw figure, and all seven publish a built-in speaker. Whether you need an external speaker covers when distance or room noise changes the second one.

Most of the rest can be bought from the same shop. Neon+ lists six accessories and spares alongside the projectors, all in stock on 17 October 2026:

KEYMOX USB C Hub 6-in-1RM89.902x USB-A 3.0, HDMI to "3840X2160P/30HZ", SD/TF reader

Ask Neon+ before adding any of those six, because no accessory listing names the projectors it fits. The two power banks are the clearest case: their listings publish different ports, and the only specification table that mentions running a projector off a mobile power supply is the C2000's. Send Neon+ the model and the accessory on WhatsApp before you order, so the box and the extras arrive together.

05

Which models come with an external power adapter?

Six of the seven Neon+ lists include an adapter or a power cord for an adapter, and the Q1 is the exception. The Q1's table lists "AC100~240V built-in power board", mains straight into the projector, which is consistent with a box list that carries a power cord and no adapter.

Those six do not all take the same adapter. Neon+ publishes 12V/2A DC IN for the C2000, 19V/3.42A for the K5, the V8 and the V6, and 19V 6.32A for the X5 and the X5 Plus. The shop sells a spare listed simply as "Adaptor", with no note of which models it fits, so ask before you reuse or replace one. Whether a projector needs a socket at all is a separate question, answered in battery projector or externally powered projector.

Quick answers

Frequently asked questions

Does the box include batteries for the remote control?

No Neon+ specification table says either way. All seven list a remote control in the box; none lists batteries for it, and none says they are excluded. If you want the projector working the minute it arrives, ask Neon+ when you order, or keep a pair of spares on hand.

What does the X5 Plus include that the X5 does not?

Two wireless microphones. The X5 Plus box list is the X5's list plus "2x Wireless Microphone", and the two specification tables are otherwise identical. The X5 Plus is the model Neon+ names as mic and karaoke ready, and the microphones are the published difference in the carton.

Which plug does the power cord in the box have?

Neon+ does not publish the plug type for any model. The specification tables give the power input only, such as the Q1's "AC100~240V built-in power board" or the V6's 19V/3.42A DC IN. If the socket matters for where you plan to use the projector, ask Neon+ before ordering.

What should you do if something on the list is missing when the box arrives?

Contact Neon+ straight away with your Order ID. The specification tables, the FAQ and the Terms as read on 17 October 2026 describe no process for a missing accessory, so there is no published route to follow: raise it on +6012-565 2091 or at info@neonplus.com.my while the delivery is fresh.
