Neon+ warranty, refunds and delivery: what to know before you buy
Neon+ (Neon Plus) projectors carry a 365-day local warranty from the date of purchase for manufacturing defects. A manufacturing defect within that year is handled by 1-to-1 replacement, not a cash refund, and the customer pays postage on warranty claims. An upgrade to a higher-tier model is allowed within 3 days of purchase. Orders ship within 3 working days; allow up to 3 weeks for Sabah and Sarawak.

Method and scope Explains the warranty, refund, upgrade, delivery, instalment and contact terms Neon+ publishes on its FAQ, Terms and Conditions (section 6), Delivery & Refund policy, company profile, contact and PayLater pages, with Malaysia's Consumer Protection Act 1999 as general context. It does not decide anyone's legal rights or whether a particular fault qualifies.

What does the Neon+ warranty cover, and what is excluded?
The Neon+ warranty lasts 365 days (one year) from the date of purchase and covers manufacturing defects; the FAQ words it as covering “malfunctioning components and problems attributed to manufacturing defects.” Qualifying faults are handled by 1-to-1 replacement. The customer pays postal and delivery costs on warranty claims, and damage from personal negligence, mishandling or misuse is not covered.
Neon+'s Terms and Conditions, section 6, set the rest of the conditions. A claim needs “valid proof of purchase (i.e. Order ID, name and email of customer)”, the warranty is counted from the first customer's purchase, and its scope “covers labour and parts only”. Units bought from “Unauthorised dealers, resellers or distributors” and “Second-hand items, including online or offline marketplace platforms” are not accepted for warranty service. Software-related and compatibility issues are excluded, and a non-refundable diagnostic fee applies when an inspected unit needs no service. The FAQ describes the remedy as 1-to-1 replacement, and section 7 of the Terms as a “1 to 1 exchange”.

| Remedy | 1-to-1 replacement; no cash refunds (FAQ) | The model name |

| Excluded | Negligence, mishandling and misuse (FAQ); software-related and compatibility issues, cosmetic damage and normal wear, among others (Terms) | A short note of how and where the projector was used |
| Postage | Postal and delivery costs borne by the customer (FAQ) | The unit packed securely, if Neon+ asks you to send it in |
| Diagnostic fee | Paid before inspection, including shipping; non-refundable, and the unit is returned unserviced if it needs no service, the fault is software-related or you decline the repair charges (Terms) | Ask Neon+ the fee before sending the unit |

What Malaysian consumer law says about repairs after the warranty
Separately from the Neon+ warranty, section 37 of Malaysia's Consumer Protection Act 1999 concerns repair facilities and spare parts after goods are supplied. For a fault after the warranty year, ask Neon+ what options exist.
“there shall be implied a guarantee that the manufacturer and the supplier will take reasonable action to ensure that facilities for the repair of the goods and the supply of spare parts for the goods are reasonably available for a reasonable period after the goods are so supplied.”
Malaysia Consumer Protection Act 1999, section 37(1)
Does Neon+ give refunds, and can you upgrade after buying?
Neon+ does not give cash refunds. Its refund policy reads: “Neon Plus does not offer cash refunds.” A fault from a manufacturing defect goes through the warranty replacement instead. What Neon+ does offer is an upgrade: customers moving a newly bought projector to a higher-tier model “may do so within 3 days of purchase,” according to its FAQ.
Can the upgrade window close before delivery?
Yes. The 3-day upgrade window is short, and it counts from purchase. Orders ship within 3 working days, and delivery to Sabah or Sarawak can take up to 3 weeks, so the window can close before the projector arrives. If you may want a higher-tier model, ask Neon+ before ordering how the upgrade and any price difference work for a delivered order. The Neon+ smart projector range lists every model and price, and the guide to choosing a projector helps you pick the right tier the first time.

How do you make a Neon+ warranty claim?
To make a Neon+ warranty claim, call the hotline on +6012-565 2091 or email info@neonplus.com.my before opening, modifying or posting the projector. Have the order ID, the name and email used for the order, the model name and a record of the fault ready, and ask how the unit will be assessed and returned. The customer pays postage on warranty claims, and the Terms set a non-refundable diagnostic fee if the unit needs no service, so contacting Neon+ first can save a wasted trip to the courier.
What should you check and record before calling?
Neon+'s own guidance is direct: “For troubleshooting on your projector, do contact our hotline +6012-565 2091.” Before calling, rule out the parts around the projector. Swap the source device, the HDMI cable or adapter and the power socket one at a time, and note what changes. Record when the fault first happened, what was on screen, any indicator light or message, and the steps that bring it back; a short phone video is the clearest record of a fault that comes and goes. The classroom projector setup checklist covers the cable and source checks in more detail.
- Swap Source device, cable, adapter and socket, one at a time; a fault caused by another device is not covered.
- Note First occurrence, what was on screen, lights and messages, plus the order ID.
- Film A short video of the fault as it happens.
- Contact +6012-565 2091 or info@neonplus.com.my, before opening or posting the unit; ask about the diagnostic fee.

Which purchase records should a Neon+ owner keep?
A Neon+ owner should keep the order confirmation (the order ID, name and email that the Terms accept as proof of purchase), the invoice, the exact model name and any written terms, in one place. The date of purchase starts both the 365-day warranty and the 3-day upgrade window. Keep the original box and accessories until Neon+ confirms whether a warranty return needs them.
Each Neon+ model has its own packing list on its product page, so check the box against the right one as soon as it arrives. For the V6, Neon+ lists the projector, remote control, power adapter, tripod, power cord, HDMI cable and instruction card. The C2000 packing list has a portable storage bag but no power cord or HDMI cable. If something is missing or damaged, film the unboxing and contact Neon+ straight away. The Neon+ V6 product page shows the full specification and packing list for that model.
The proof of purchase the Terms ask for, with the model name.
Checked against the model's packing list, and kept until Neon+ says otherwise.
How long does Neon+ delivery take, including Sabah and Sarawak?
Neon+ ships orders within 3 working days. For Sabah and Sarawak, Neon+ asks buyers to allow up to 3 weeks for delivery; it publishes no separate delivery time for Peninsular Malaysia, so ask for an estimate for your address when you order. Delivery is free on orders over RM50, including Sabah and Sarawak, and a flat RM8 below that.
| Region | Ships | Delivery time to allow | Delivery fee | Order ahead by |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Peninsular Malaysia | Within 3 working days | Not published; ask for an estimate for your address | Free over RM50; RM8 below | Ask when ordering |
| Sabah and Sarawak | Within 3 working days | Up to 3 weeks | Free over RM50; RM8 below | About 4 weeks |
How far ahead should you order for a fixed date?
The order-ahead figure adds the published allowances: up to 3 working days to ship plus up to 3 weeks in transit is about three and a half weeks, so for an address in Sabah or Sarawak, order about four weeks before the date you need the projector, for example before a school term starts. For a Peninsular address, ask Neon+ for an estimate when you order and add the 3 working days it takes to ship.

How does the Neon+ 0% instalment plan for teachers work?
Neon+ offers 0% instalment plans for Malaysian teachers through PayLater. A teacher applies on the Neon+ PayLater application form, and approval is required. The application form does not list the tenure, eligibility rules or approval rate, so ask about them when you apply and plan your budget on the cash price until the application is approved.
What should a teacher ask before applying?
These questions turn the PayLater offer into terms you can compare. Ask them when you apply, and keep the answers with the quote.
- Whose terms apply to the instalment plan.
- Which models the plan covers.
- How many payments, of what amount, and the total payable.
- Any fees, deposit or late-payment charges.
- Which documents a teacher must supply, and how long approval takes.
- What happens to the order if the application is declined.

Neon+ warranty, refund and delivery questions, answered
Warranty and refunds
How long is the Neon Plus (Neon+) projector warranty?
Neon+ gives a 365-day (one-year) local warranty from the date of purchase, covering malfunctioning components and problems attributed to manufacturing defects. A qualifying fault is handled by 1-to-1 replacement, the customer pays postage on the claim, and damage from negligence, mishandling or misuse is not covered.
How do I make a Neon+ warranty claim?
Call +6012-565 2091 or email info@neonplus.com.my before opening or posting the projector. Have the order ID, the name and email used for the order, the model name and a note or short video of the fault ready. The customer pays postage, and Neon+'s Terms set a non-refundable diagnostic fee if no fault is found.
Can I return a Neon+ projector for a refund, or upgrade it?
Neon+ does not offer cash refunds; a fault from a manufacturing defect within 365 days is handled by 1-to-1 replacement. Neon+ does allow an upgrade to a higher-tier model within 3 days of purchase, so ask before ordering how that works if delivery takes longer than 3 days.
Does the Neon+ warranty cover a projector bought from a marketplace or second-hand?
No. Section 6 of the Neon+ Terms and Conditions does not accept warranty claims for units bought from unauthorised dealers, resellers or distributors, or for second-hand items, including those bought on online or offline marketplace platforms. The warranty is counted from the first customer's purchase, so buy from Neon+ or an authorised dealer.
Delivery and PayLater
How long does delivery to Sabah and Sarawak take?
Neon+ asks buyers to allow up to 3 weeks for delivery to Sabah and Sarawak. Orders ship within 3 working days, and delivery is free over RM50, including Sabah and Sarawak, with a flat RM8 below that. For a fixed deadline, order about four weeks ahead.
Is the Neon+ teacher instalment plan guaranteed?
No. The Neon+ 0% PayLater instalment plan for Malaysian teachers requires an application and approval, and the application form does not list tenure, eligibility rules or approval rates. Ask about those terms when you apply, and plan on the cash price until the application is approved.
